Kara DioGuardi appeared on this morning’s installment of The View to talk about, naturally, American Idol. Barbara Walters asked about Adam Lambert being gay, to which Kara DioGuardi responded, “I don’t think that Adam was ever in [the closet]. I think he was always openly out.” Barbara further asked if he was openly out because Adam Lambert has never said one way or the other and Kara said, “I think he was. I mean from what I’ve seen … I do. I never thought he wasn’t.” In other Adam Lambert is-he-or-isn’t-he-gay news… The NY Post is reporting that Lambert will appear on the cover of Rolling Stone where he will be coming out “officially.”

American Idol 9 Audition Cities, Dates Announced

So… about that “scandal” that American Idol was rigged this season because of AT&T’s influence in Kris Allen’s favor ? Fox is saying it’s just not the case, confirming that Kris Allen is “without a doubt” the American Idol 8 winner. FremantleMedia North America, 19 Entertainment and FOX Broadcasting Company issued a statement that says: “FOX and the producers of American Idol are absolutely certain that the results of this competition are fair, accurate and verified. Kris Allen is, without a doubt, the American Idol. We have an independent third-party monitoring procedure in place to ensure the integrity of the voting process. In no way did any individuals unfairly influence the outcome of the competition.”

Citing sources, The Times reports that AT&T reps showed party-goers how to “power text” — cast 10 votes at the touch of a button — which violates show rules. No similar efforts appear to have been made to provide free texting services to Adam Lambert fans, who have complained that the competition’s voting was rigged.
