ABC has decided to give Scrubs another year, renewing the hospital comedy for its ninth season. Zach Braff is confirmed to have signed on for six episodes, but the rumor that Sarah Chalke did the same deal is not yet a sure thing. Donald Faison, John C. McGinley and Neil Flynn will also return for season 9. No word yet on which new characters will join the cast or if the format of Scrubs will change. Judy Reyes has not yet been confirmed for the upcoming season.

Katie Holmes will show off her dark side. According to Variety , the 30-year-old actress has signed on to star in Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark , a fright flick for Miramax Films. The adrenaline-pumping flick is based on a TV movie that aired on ABC back in 1973 – notable for being one of the only two terrifying TV movies ever made; the other is The Dark Night of the Scarecrow – and centers on a young girl who moves in with her dad and his girlfriend, only to discover that the house is haunted by demonic creatures.

Holy shocker, dance fans. On tonight’s May 5 Dancing with the Stars week 9 results show, we got the mother of all upsets - Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough were eliminated, when most thought that bull rider Ty Murray’s time was up. After the previous night’s performances, Ty Murray had the lowest score… but looks like fans are keeping him in the DWTS running. Dancing with the Stars host Samantha Harris commented, “Not a happy audience,” when Lil’ Kim’s elimination was announced. Kim told the crowd/viewers, “I think this is one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever experienced in my life. I think I’ve brought different viewers.”

It’s official: Julianne Hough is breaking up with Dancing with the Stars . She and real-life boyfriend country singer Chuck Wicks were eliminated from the ABC competition Tuesday night and Hough confirmed that she will not be back for season 9. “I’m not doing next season … I’m gonna take one off,” she said in an interview with Access Hollywood .
