Chief Justice Lovemore Munlo of Malawi has set a hearing for Madonna ’s adoption case on May 4, Usmagazine.com has learned. Munlo will lead a three-judge panel in the appeal case, High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal spokesman Joseph Chigona told local reporters. See photos of other stars who have adopted. The hearing will begin at 9 a.m., but “since it involves an infant, it will be heard in chambers,” Chigona added. A judge rejected Madonna’s bid to adopt three-year-old Chifundo “Mercy” James on April 3, citing requirements that adoptive parents reside in Malawi for 18 to 24 months.
